how many players does LDservice have of yours?????????

I feel that its sort of time to star this topic, been hearing a lot of people who haven't received their players back from ldservice.

I know that he had to move his shop and had other issues but whenever I ask about my player I don't get any messages back.

for me he has a CD player since around may.
not a big deal but how many others are out when it comes to this.
i feel the need to get this out there.

I wanted to buy a player from him a few months ago. He said he wasn't ready to sell it yet. I asked him to let me know when he is ready. I didn't ask again. Maybe he forgot. He helped me before some years ago. He was very nice. I don't know what happened.

he fixed my LD player in 2013, found the receipt and was very fast with it, but now 6 months is a long time.
I would have never bought the player, found it on ebay and asked him before I sent it if he could fix or try to fix.

Duncan would always respond to my messages, and we would have some back and forth conversations.
but once I asked about my player nothing....

not the only man,
and i see mr duncan is registered here..

in february 2015 it will be 2 years my pioneer ldv 1000 is at duncan's office.
1 years ago he sayd me the work was done and to pay him.i did.almost another year is passing.
then after 2 o 3 mail in all this time where in 1 he say he is moving the office/labouratory ,mail spam problem and other ,nothingh more.
a lot of mail sent but no reply.
i sent him an letter signed system,no reply.

is this the clear way/tecnqique to fu@@ the people?

WOW sorry to hear its been 2 years for you, and you paid him already.
I don't feel as bad now that its only been 6 months.

There aren't many people out there who can still repair LD players and I suspect he is often inundated with work.

Once Duncan retires all those folks in USA will be scrambling for working players or willing to pay ANY amount to get them repaired. Sounds like a nice business idea for someone to take over.

Yeah... I'm a bit too ham-handed with them right now to do it myself, but it is going to be an issue sooner or later.

If I lived in driving distance, I would have long ago seen about apprenticing on some weekends in exchange for getting my Magnavox VC-8010 (cross between an 8210 and 1100) and 3080 fixed and up to tip-top shape.

yes, that is true, all of us in the USA will be SOL when ldservice is out of commission.

He's had my 3070 for months upon months, close to a year now I think. The few responses I've managed to get back (most of my PMs have gone ignored) say that it's done and come with a plethora of irrelevant excuses, but I sincerely doubt it.

I don't really care about getting it back tbh at this point (the LX-H670 I bought to replace it tracks wonderfully), I just want to warn others not to send him anything because chances are it'll end in disappointment.

The last time LDService visited the forum was only a few days ago (7th November) but that was before rein-o mentioned the bad word 'repair' which he knows he should never mention

I expect it will be all greased up and shipped out any day now rein-o

It's the same guy. Never done any business with him myself though but he's been gentle and responded very fast whenever I've been in touch with him.

if someone that is in 'love' with him could advice that somethingh unpleasant it's going on should be much better but if he haven't a guilty conscience it wont' be necessary.

we don't need any excuse ,false promise,or invented thinghs ,laboratory change,hospital,hearhquake,and so on cuz we have already had,we only want he Mr DUncan of laserdiscservice.com to regive US back our proprety material cause only thiefs and cheater make like he did.

Wow - didn't realise LDService had received so many players from different people all over the world - some of whom have already paid and been waiting years to receive them back. In my books that is totally unacceptable. Whatever has been going on in his life really should have no bearing on the end customers. I sense from this thread there are others too who have not yet spoken out but are equally frustrated waiting.

It is also very poor that he has not at least replied to give some indication of when other people's equipment will be fixed (if at all). I'm afraid any excuses he comes up with now are unlikely to be very convincing given he had plenty of time to joke around on this forum - posting 967 times instead of making hay while the sun shines

yes, very sad, I know of 2 others who have contacted me directly before I even started this topic, and they have not posted yet.
when I checked my receipts of shipping my player I discovered that it was 6 months ago.
I even went to send my player really late to get it to him hoping that if it got to him faster that he would fix it faster.

last message i sent him was ignored, i had received a PM from another member and they were asking me about if i heard from him.
so i sent a message to ask what was going on, that others were contacting me about the same problems.

one of the others has also been waiting for 2 years........
